 Level and Flow Controls. To look at one, the average person wouldn't have a clue as to its function, let alone its importance. Truth is, level and flow controls are crucial to the world's manufacturing environments.
Everything that makes up our lives, everything that begins as a raw material and ends-up a finished product, comes into existence within one of these process environments. This includes the foods to sustain us, the pharmaceuticals that maintain our health, the fuels and lubricants that keep our world in motion. Process environments are places which also cleanse our water, create electricity and natural gas for our homes and work places, and produce every imaginable chemical. As diverse as these environments are, they all depend upon level and flow controls. Without them, in fact, large-scale manufacturing would be all but impossible. Flow instruments monitor and control flow rates of fluid chemicals, water, slurries (liquids containing particulate matter), sewage and gas. Level instruments monitor and control the levels of liquids and bulk solids -- everything from the milk we drink, to the tiny granules which become molded plastic parts. Level and flow controls are at the heart of every industrialized process and every industrialized nation. And that's why we work so hard to make the very best in the world -- the kind that get the job done reliably, intelligently, with minimal maintenance and with reasonable whole-life costs. Because as long as we make them that way, a very big part of our world will continue to move ahead smoothly. And that translates into a better life for us all.
