You may see the following warning message appear in Internet Explorer when trying to run M.E.L. from
the CD or your local hard drive:

Internet Explorer Warning Message

There are two options available to allow you to continue to use your M.E.L. software.
  1. Every time this warning message is displayed, click on the message to display a “drop-down” menu.
Select “Allow Blocked Content...”. A message box asking you to verify that you want to run active content
will be displayed, click “Yes” to continue. This procedure will have to be repeated every time
Internet Explorer blocks active content (such as when you are trying to open a PDF document from MEL).

  2. You can also change your Internet Explorer settings to always allow active content. Please note, changing
this setting will allow active content for all Internet Explorer applications, not just MEL.

To change your Internet Explorer settings, follow these steps:

    1. Click on the “Tools” Menu and select “Internet Options...”

    2. Click on the “Advanced” tab and scroll down to the “Security” settings.

    3. If you are running MEL from the CD, check the box next to “Allow active content from CDs to run on
My Computer”. If you installed MEL to your computer, check the box next to “Allow active content to
run in files on My Computer”. See the image below, the items with the red dot next to them are the
settings that need to be changed.

      Internet Explorer Options

Changing these settings will allow active content on ALL Internet Explorer applications
that are run from either your CD-ROM drive or directly from your hard disk drive. This may
allow malicious programs to run on your computer.
